Top 100 Escape Rooms in the World - August 2019
August marks the third month that we are publishing our Top 100 Escape Rooms in the World list using weighted averages from Google, Yelp, and TripAdvisor. As we mentioned in previous months, we have improved the process and “sharpened our pencils” to get more precise ratings from these three sites. Several businesses became eligible for ranking as they now have greater than 150 reviews. Six of those now appear in this Top 100 list.
Leading the new entrants is Strange Bird Immersive (Houston) in the #3 position. We expected that when they re-opened their business at their new location, they would re-emerge in the Top 10.
Other new entrants include Maze of Tales (Beirut), Other World Escapes (Portsmouth), Mystic Escape Room (Littleton), Miss Terry Escape Rooms (Hanoi), and Elude Escape Rooms (Galston). While we expect to continue to see new entrants from the US and the UK, it’s especially nice to see new entrants from Lebanon, Vietnam, and Australia!
In the ranking results table, you will see the previous month’s ranking. Note that downward movement in this list is NOT necessarily an indication that the average rating for a business has decreased specially since additional businesses have joined the ranked set. You can pull up the July ranking and put the two side-by-side to see how the average for a business has changed.
Regarding movement within the Top 100, we continue to see impressive movement up the ranks. The Escape Game (Cincinnati) makes a huge move up 118 positions (are you kidding me) to #92! , Timed Out (Charlotte) moves up 12 to #23, Ludi Quest (Santander) moves up 13 to #48, and Hora de Escape (Oviedo) moves up 14 and into the Top 100 to #94. Great job folks!
There was also some very impressive movement outside the Top 100. Seoul Escape Room moves up 417, The Clockwork Key Escape Room (Dublin) moves up 311, Escape Reality (Delhi) moves up 309, and Room Rush (Paris) moves up 207. Wow!
