Top 100 Escape Rooms in the World - January 2020

We welcome the new year by providing our Top 100 Escape Rooms in the World list for January using all individual review ratings from Google, Yelp, and TripAdvisor. As usual, several additional businesses became eligible for ranking as they now have greater than 150 reviews, and two of them appear in this month’s Top 100 list.

The new entrants are The Exit Games FL (Clearwater, Florida) at #3 and Stash House (Los Angeles, California) at #33. Others entering the Top 100 (either for the first time or re-entering) include Time Lock Escape Rooms (Worthing, UK) at #90, Edge Of Escape (Zion, Illinois) at #91, Escape FLA (Largo, Florida) at #92, and Open The Door Escape Room (Galway, Ireland) at #95, CTRL ALT ESC (Margate, UK) at #98, Kauai Escape Room (Lihue, Hawaii) at #99, and Fug Game (Besancon, France) at #100.

Several made significant jumps including Escape Room St Pete (Saint Petersburg, Florida) up 13 to #11, The Crooked Key (Steamboat Springs, Colorado) up 12 to #30, Tadam Escape (Carquefou, France) up 14 to #35, The Way Out (Schaffhausen, Switzerland) to #39, and Alcatraz Escape Room (Cagliari, Italy) up 59 positions to #40.  Excellent!

If you haven’t seen our December article for the Top World Escape Rooms With a 5.0 Rating, check it out.  The Exit Games FL no longer has a 5.0 rating, but as you can see above, they are near the top of the list.  Mystery Maui Escape Room (Wailuku, Hawaii) and The Spacetime Travel Agency (Sebastopol, California) still have a 5.0 rating with 121 and 114 reviews respectively.  Do you think they will make it into our list with a perfect rating?

One issue we had last month was with the TripAdvisor ratings.  They appear to have fixed the bug.  Please check your ratings periodically in and let them know if they are in error.  Same goes for Google and Yelp.  You certainly would want your customers to see the correct value, specially if it is higher than what is being reported.

Note that a business dropping in the ranking is not an indication that they are performing worse.  You can compare to previous months lists to see if the average ranking has changed.  Movement downward is often due to new entrants that are increasing the competition.
