Top 25 Countries with the Best Escape Rooms - June 2019
In March we posted the Top 25 Countries with the Best Escape Rooms using a very simplified approach. Based on the data we now have for 9,000 locations, we revised the approach for ranking the top countries.
We are now using the average rating associated with each ranked business. We then consolidated ranked ratings for all businesses residing in each country to develop a country average rating.
The cutoff we used for this rating was 10 ranked businesses. In other words, a country with less than 10 ranked businesses was filtered from the results.
This cutoff was somewhat arbitrary and we would have preferred a higher cutoff. However, using higher cutoff values reduced the filtered list to less than 25 countries.
It’s certainly debatable whether this is a statistically legitimate way to compare, but the results were interesting and it makes for a fun comparison. A little more than 1/2 of the countries were above the overall average rating of 4.74. When comparing countries with the largest economies, the UK has a comfortable lead over the US, France, Italy, Germany, and Canada. It will be interesting to see if there are any changes over time.
