Friday night of April 25th 1986. Ukrainian Soviet Socialistic Republic. Chernobyl. Every one is set off for upcoming long wait fast go week end. USSR downfall gets snowball effect. Consumer product deficit, huge lines almost for everything. Soviet propaganda is dying under the pressure of democratic values – people prefer jeans, McDonald’s and bubble gums to exploration of space, peaceful atom, scientific breaks through and glory of international socialistic revolution. Perestroika announced by smooth talker but weak doer Mr. Gorbachev one year earlier doesn’t look to work out well either. Soviet people are depressed, mislead, disoriented, abandoned and no one seems to know where and when systematic collapse will jeopardize into bigger scale social, cultural or technological catastrophe.
