MINNEAPOLIS INSTITUTE OF ART TRANSFORMS INTO AN INTERACTIVE ESCAPE ROOM EXPERIENCE
Mia’s Puzzle Room Experience
Using an App’s Augmented Reality Feature, You’ll See MIA’s Collection in a New Way!
Escape rooms are an entertainment phenomenon. They represent a modern take on on a variety of themes with the added excitement of being locked in. You must solve the puzzles to escape the room. One thing we find very interesting is the creativity and new directions taken in the escape room industry and Mia’s puzzle room experience is a great example.
The Minneapolis Institute of Art is transformed into a giant puzzle room which you’re invited to solve using an app called Riddle Mia This. This app transforms the institute into interactive galleries where you are looking for clues in the artworks, exposing a faction of anti-technologists.
This free app is available in the Apple App Store or the Google Play store. Samantha Porter (left) and Colin McFadden (right), designed the game for Mia’s puzzle room experience. They are employed at the University of Minnesota’s Liberal Arts and Technology Innovation Services (LATIS). Samantha and Colin are winners of this year’s 3M Art and Technology Award!
Play it alone or with friends and see Mia’s collection in a way you’ve never seen before! For more details visit the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
